    Journalism Intern
    MadGame.com is looking for a fall intern with a journalism background to start in September and end in December 2008. We're looking for a smart, creative student interested in learning about sports video production and helping produce several shows during the season. Student must possess excellent writing and communication skills and have a high-energy personality. This is an unpaid position.

    Responsibilities include researching sports news, writing sports news briefs, pitching ideas, gathering quotes and statistics, blogging for the Web site, video-taping sports events, and transcribing interviews, as well as some additional production duties.

    Requirements:
    • Must love sports and be a self-starter
    • Must be able to get college credit for the internship
    • Must work a minimum of eight (8) hours per week.

    Marketing Intern
    The selected candidate will support the marketing department's daily activities.
    This is an unpaid position.

    Sales and Service Path:
    As a support staff person, this individual will assist the sales staff with on-line inquiries, mailings, database management, and sales calls. This individual may also assist the promotions department if needed.
    • Assists in department development of sales programs
    • Responds to sales inquiries through telephone and/or written correspondence
    • Conduct research on similar internet firms
    • Assist with the design of collateral for sales brochures and marketing materials
    • Provides database management support including data entry and generating reports
    Advertising and Promotions Path:
    Collaborates in the development of promotions, and is responsible for managing the successful communication and implementation of these promotions. Also assists in the coordination of Marketing department activities including advertising, consumer relationship marketing, and market research; media inquiries; program launches, sponsorship fulfillment, and special projects as assigned.
    • Assists department to develop a strategic plan for traffic generating promotions.
    • Assists with sponsorship prospecting and partner fulfillment
    • Assists team to develop and implement all marketing-based aspects of new campaigns including advertising and promotional campaigns, media relations, user research, giveaways, etc.
    • Analyzes promotional opportunities presented by local and regional media, and implements and monitors participation.
    • Coordinates implementation of all promotional programs with other partners
    • Coordinates miscellaneous advertising efforts including placement in local and regional media outlets and assists Marketing Director with any day-to-day advertising duties as needed.
    Requirements:
    • Undergraduate student enrolled in an accredited college, pursuing a degree in marketing, communications, public relations, journalism, information technology, or a related field.
    • A working knowledge of Excel and Word, and PowerPoint preferred; basic computer skills required.
    • Candidate should be creative, energetic, organized and possess strong verbal skills; candidate should also be self-motivated, have the ability to work independently and take initiative on projects.
